Frinton is lovely, but misery from Walton down to Jaywick.

It's barren lab. Tbh who cares? Would any of you swap your 2 weeks in the sun for a shit caravan park in the rain at places like this or Yarmouth? Ffs that's the market. These places vote Tory or worse every single election and complain about being left behind, begging for taxpayers money to get fitted up? No fucking way. Hospitals yes. 1950s style holiday centres no. The world has moved on.

I have to agree , a lot of our coastal towns are rather baron . Sussex can boast good coastal walks and I love Dorset coasts for views, but we don't do a lot to pull people in, Esp people with kids. I imagine it's due to lack of council money.

Fish & Chip shop first then the pub !

Frinton really is a lovely place to live as in old England but yes I agree Walton needs a bit of TLC.....
Connaught avenue in Frinton has become very cosmopolitan with many bars and restaurants.
I live outside the gates but if you drove down the avenues inside the gates you jaw would drop at most of the houses they're individual and fecking massive yet compared to most area's still cheep.

Oh and we have five junior schools in the area so forget all the old bollocks !

I think that was pubs. They didn't get a pub until around 15 years ago.

20 years ago my whole patch for work was Tendring. Some good contenders with Walton for khazis. Jaywick, st osyth, dovercourt, Harwich. Maybe you have rose tinteds as a kid but it was fucking shocking as an adult to see the decline from our day trips from London.

I had to council tax band the estate that was built on the Warner's/Hi de hi site. Cant believe i actually had a holiday there as a nipper.

I had some great holidays there as a kid (Walton that is and not Frinton as the smell of piss and Werthers Originals put me off).

I went back a couple of years ago and it's just another of God's waiting rooms sur mare.

There is NOTHING as depressing as an off-season British coastal resort.

Nothing there is there. Didn't Frinton refuse to have a Fish and Chip shop or something?

As Morrissey once said "this is the seaside town that they forgot to bomb".

There's no such thing as 'government money'.
